Police protection for 12 individuals costs €12,850 per week

Members of the Police Force provide static security for 12 individuals at different locations, costing the country’s coffers €12,850 every week.

According to Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela, who was replying to a parliamentary question by backbencher Silvio Parnis, not all 12 individuals received round-the-clock protection.

“Some individuals only receive protection during the night and in the early hours of the day,” Abela said.
