300 new bus trips a day for busy routes
Bus frequency to be increased during summer months, service to be extended to five popular beaches
There will be more frequent buses on busy routes and an extended bus service to popular beaches during the summer months, starting from tomorrow.
The frequency of buses will be increasing, with 300 more trips per day, on the following routes:
Route 212 - Sliema - Buġibba
Route 221 - Ċirkewwa - Buġibba
Route 222 - Sliema – Ċirkewwa
Route 223 - Buġibba – Għajn Tuffieħa
Route 225 - Sliema – Għajn Tuffieħa
Route 31 - Valletta – Buġibba
Route 310 - Victoria – Marsalforn
Route 311 - Victoria – Dwejra
Route 322 - Marsalforn – Mġarr Ferry
The bus service will also be extended to include the Armier, Blue Grotto, Ġnejna Bay, Popeye Village and Għar Lapsi beaches.
In a statement, Malta Public Transport added that it will boost its bus fleet with 33 new air-conditioned, fully accessibly and environmentally friendly buses in the coming weeks.
