33 jailed for abuse of minors in five years

33 people were jailed for abusing minors in the past five years, home affairs minister Carmelo Abela has revealed.

Three were jailed in 2011, nine in 2012, three in 2013, ten in 2014, seven in 2015, and one so far this year. 

Their sentences ranged from a minimum of six months to a maximum of ten years.
