Freak storm hits Malta
In the first week of summer, isolated showers plague a Friday afternoon
Waking up to a sunny morning on the first week of summer, people remain surprised at the fluctuating weather hitting the island.
The weather turned overcast in the late morning with heavy showers and even thunder later on during the day over several localities.
The rain has caused traffic chaos and flooding in certain areas, such as Msida, Dingli, Luqa and Valletta. Motorists were advised to avoid areas prone to flooding.
Despite the bad conditions today, seemingly getting worse in the late evening, beautiful, sunny weather is predicted over the weekend and the beginning of next week.
