UHM calls for health workers strike

Union Haddiema Maghqudin (UHM) has called for industrial action, directing Health Promotional Class workers to refrain from using telephones, emails, or faxes.

The directive was issued, the union said, following repeated issues the UHM had with the Joint Negotiations Team, so that counter-proposals to the UHM’s proposals are made regarding these workers’ working conditions.

The UHM said that in recent weeks, the union was repeatedly assured that these counter-proposals had been prepared and were being finalized, but nevertheless failed to ever be presented to the Union as months passed by.

The union said it would uphold these directives until the situation is somehow “unblocked.”
