Marsaxlokk church streaker kept under arrest
Zabbar man kept under preventive arrest for streaking inside Marsaxlokk parish church.
Judge David Scicluna remanded Freddie Delia, 32 from Zabbar, into preventive arrest after a successful appeal by police prosecutors.
Delia is accused of barging into the Marsaxlokk church, after breaking the doors’ windows, and streaking inside while mass was being heard at 6:30pm on 3 June, 2010.
The court heard that Delia was shouting his name and his hometown as he entered the church, alarming parishioners who reportedly entered the sacristy to hide.
Delia was given medical treatment upon being apprehended by the Marsaxlokk police inside the church. In his defence, Delia claims he was under the effect of alcohol.
Both Delia and his brother stand accused of trafficking in heroine and cocaine, and with money laundering through the sale of property.
