John Bundy, recently appointed CEO of Public Broadcasting Services, was a broadcaster ‘par excellence’, as well as being a very correct and moral person, according to Jason Micallef, executive chairman of One TV and chairman of the Valletta 2018 Foundation.

Bundy was formally appointed CEO of the PBS in a secret vote taken on Wednesday, replacing Anton Attard who had served in the post for the past six years.
Micallef – an outspoken critic of the outgoing CEO – said he had known Bundy for years in his work across various sectors of broadcast media, and that he considered him a personal friend.

“I sincerely wish him well,” he said, “as he tackles the huge task ahead of him, that of restructuring the PBS and making it the best station in the country, which I have always said it should be.”

Asked whether he believed Bundy possessed the necessary qualifications to lead PBS, Micallef answered: “Why not?”
