New Pulse fund to offer financial aid to students in need
A new initiative by student organisation Pulse will see financial aid being offered to students for whom the stipend and supplemental grants are not enough to allow them to attend sixth form or university
A new fund will offer financial aid to university and post-secondary school students who may find themselves in financial difficulty or who may be victims of social injustice, student organisation Pulse announced on Tueday.
The new initiative was launched during Freshers’ Week at Junior College and was presided over by president Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, who praised the students for embracing solidarity and thus promoting unity and peace.
‘The Student Fund’ will fall under the Malta Community Chest Fund foundation, which will be setting up an ad-hoc board to assign the funds collected through fund-raising activities and other avenues.
Pulse’s aim is to assist students for whom the stipend and supplementary grants might not be enough to allow them to attend sixth form or university and to therefore ensure that everyone have access to the best education possible.
