New child care centre opened

The importance of early education in Children's development was highlighted by Education minister Dolores Cristina when she inaugurated a new Child Care Centre in Pembroke.

“Government believes that children deserve strong and solid investment in this area, and in fact, in the past few years, there has been a significant amount of investment for more affordable and accessible child care centres

“The scope behind these cetnres is to offer a more personal service of superior quality to all children, with particular emphasis to children that require special attention,” Dolores Cristina said.

“Thanks to increased help as announced in the last Budget, next year we will be committed to opening other centres, this time in Floriana and Santa Venera. We will continue to invest in this sector so that we could open more centres in Malta and Gozo.”

“If one takes a good look around them, these centres are equipped with the best facilities to help children learn, and are taught by professionals specifically trained for the job,” the minister said.

@kunduttur. Actually the centre was opened few months ago but as the children were accepted at the centre one by one (so that they will be given individual attention while settling down) it was only recently that the centre was fully operating.

If I am not mistaken, this Centre is already into it's second year of operation so the word "New" is definately not appropriate !!! Why has it taken so long to have this place officially opened ?
