Fake story claiming Eddie Fenech Adami has died spreads online

A hoax news story has been spreading around social media, claiming former Prime Minister and President Eddie Fenech Adami has died of a heart attack.

The story was posted on ‘Mega News 360’, a website that posts false news stories – such as the deaths of Queen Elizabeth and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and an attack by ISIS during last summer’s Olympic Games.

The false story spread across social media, with some even offering their condolences. However, Michael Fenech Adami – a former Birkirkara mayor – eventually took to Facebook to confirm that the story was a hoax and that his father was alive and well.
