Mott MacDonald already received €222,161 for Paceville masterplan, €50,000 VAT still pending
Parliamentary question reveals that Mott MacDonald, the British firm tasked with drawing up the Paceville master plan, had submitted a bid for €272,130 plus VAT and that it had been paid €222,161 to date
The British company that drew up the proposed master plan for Paceville has been paid €222,161.72 so far, according to data submitted in parliament on Tuesday by Prime Minister Joseph Muscat in a parliamentary question.
Muscat, in a written reply to a question raised by opposition MP Censu Galea, said that Mott MacDonald had submitted a bid for €272,130.93, excluding VAT, after an expression of interest had been first published on 1 March 2016.
He said that six British and two Spanish companies had been approached and that by the end of March, only Mott MacDonald and IBI Group had replied.
A reminder was sent to the other six companies on 4 April, but these still did not express any interest in the project. On 11 April, the call’s terms of reference were sent MottMacDonald and IBI Group.
Muscat said that Mott MacDonald submitted their final financial bid on 27 April; IBI Group failed to submit a bid, and MottMacDonald’s bid was accepted on 6 May.
