PN’s approved candidates for general election reach 83
Latest nominations to be approved are Janice Chetcuti, Charles Bonello and Wayne Hewitt
The Nationalist Party yesterday approved its latest three candidates for the general elections, bring the total so far to 83.
The three candidates approved last night were Janice Chetcuti, Charles Bonello and Wayne Hewitt.
Opposition leader Simon Busuttil said that more persons were answering the party’s call to offer “their time and energy”.
“The people no longer want to be led by a corrupt clique who is only interested in secret companies in Panama. Our candidates are working to return the country to the people,” Busuttil said.
Bonello, a Fgura councilor since 1997, served as a private secretary to former prime minister Lawrence Gonzi. Chetcuti, a mother of two, is the former manager of the Animal Welfare directorate and is currently studying law. Hewitt, PN international secretary, is also minority leader at the Gzira local council.
