Snail poison being used to kill stray cats in Marsascala
Marsascala resident to hold parliamentary secretary for animal rights Roderick Galdes, “politically responsible” for inaction
Marsascala resident Charles Scerri has written to Roderick Galdes, parliamentary secretary for animal rights, to inform him that stray cats are being poisoned in Marsascala using what he says is evidently snail poison.
“Dear Hon. Galdes...for the nth time, what evidently looks like snail poison was mixed with food with the intention of killing lovingly cared for stray cats. This happened on Christmas Day at Triq is-Sliem, Marsascala. You have been notified of wrongly using this chemical to kill strays and that this needs to end on several occasions to no avail and since you have been entrusted with the welfare and safety of animals, I will be holding you politically responsible for this never ending massacre. The press have been notified and pictures have also been posted on social media channels,” wrote Scerri.
