New cyber security campaign targets public, SMEs
The two-year awareness campaign aims to cover the online security interests of both the public and the private sector, giving particular attention to the SMEs
A two-year national cyber security awareness campaign has been launched today as part of Malta’s first national cyber security strategy.
The campaign, launched by digital economy minister Emmanuel Mallia in collaboration with the Steering Committee responsible for strategy implementation, aims to cover the online security interests of both the public and the private sector, giving particular attention to the SMEs.
“Hence the Maltese theme to the campaign ‘Sigurtà Onlajn Għalik’, along with a digital character that reflects the personal effect that cyber security has in people’s day-to-day lives through the use of the various forms of ICT media applied,” Mallia said.
According to the minister, the campaign shall seek to achieve nation-wide understanding of cyber security, with an increasing focus to the realities of the various Maltese stakeholders in order to ensure better protection and preparation within cyber space.
