Defender of Ramla l-Hamra development on MEPA environmental planning board

One of the minds behind the controversial project involving the development of villas in Ulysses Lodge in Ramla l-Hamra, Gozo, has been appointed to MEPA’s Environmental Planning board.

Mrs Attard Montalto was appointed to the board to fill the gap created by Architect Frank Muscat, who resigned before the board began functioning.

According to weekly newspaper il-Kulhadd, it is not known why Muscat originally resigned, but informed sources told the paper that MEPA was not comfortable with how Muscat kept working in the private sector concurrently while serving on this board.

Attard Montalto, according to the paper, is daughter to Joe Dimech, well-known within Nationalist circles. Dimech was the PN's first district president in Gozo, as well as a candidate for Rabat (Gozo)'s local council for a time.

Until a few months ago, the newspaper adds, Attard Montalto was working in the same office as her father. It is still not know whether she resigned from her previous place of work so that she could take up this appointment.

Controversially, Attard Montalto had defended the widely criticized the speculative development in Ramla l-Hamra – one of Malta’s most picturesque areas.

These Attard Montaltos are all the same, regardless of the political side they operate from. They are, pardon my French, bullshitters.
