Updated | Man dies after car drives off cliff at Tal-Ahrax

A man died this morning when his car fell down the cliffs at Tal-Ahrax in Mellieha.

Police and medical emergency staff were joined on site by members of the Civil Protection Department and the Armed Forces of Malta.

Rescuers were seen abseiling down the cliff face to reach the car.

The car was seen falling down the cliff, not far from the Kuncizzjoni chapel, at around 10.30am.

Police later confirmed the driver of the car had died.
