FIAU resignations since 2013 total 15 – minister

A total of 14 employees resigned their post at the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit since March 2013, according to finance minister Edward Scicluna.

The minister was responding to a parliamentary question by Opposition MP Karol Aquilina, who asked how many officials had resigned in the period between the 10 March 2013 and 2 June 2017.

Aquilina also asked the minister the number of resignations from the unit since the 3 June 2017, with the minister stating that there had been one additional resignation.

Finally, Scicluna was asked the number of people currently engaged with the unit.

The minister said there were 29 individuals employed on an indefinite contract. The unit’s director is the only employee on a definite contract.

Those indefinitely employed include: one Deputy Director, one Manager, 8 Senior Officers, 13 Officers, 5 Administrative Support Officers and one General Duties Officers
