Bahrija car accident claims third road victim in 12 hours
A 78-year-old woman from Rabat lost her life this afternoon when a car she was travelling in crashed into a parked Land Rover
A 78-year-old woman from Rabat lost her life this afternoon, the third victim of accidents on Malta’s roads in less than 12 hours.
Police said they were notified of the accident at 1.30pm and went immediately on site in Triq Bieb ir-Ruwa in Bahrija.
Following preliminary investigations, they learned that a Toyota Corsa, driven by a 50-year-old woman from Rabat, had crashed into a parked Land Rover. The 78-year-old, who was travelling in the same car, was killed by the impact.
Duty Magistrate Aaron Bugeja launched an inquiry into the accident and appointed experts to assist further in the investigations.
Police investigations are continuing.
A 20-year-old Briton died in the early hours on Saturday after the car he was travelling in crashed into an ambulance in Xemxija while, at around 7am, a 72-year old man was run over by a car in Aldo Moro Street in Marsa.
