Ministry of Education offers were higher than reported

The Ministry of Education said that the offers to improve salaries, allowances and working conditions for teachers were higher than what has been reported.

The ministry said that while negotiations are still going on, working conditions will be improved and teachers’ allowance will triple. Teachers will also be given new opportunities for career progression.

It was also said that working conditions will be improved in order to better the profession.

This comes after the Malta Union of Teachers announced a day-long strike yesterday after declaring a trade dispute with the government in relation to the financial stage of sectoral agreement negotiations.
