EP President Jerzy Buzek in Malta

In his first official engagement, Buzek met with Speaker Michael Frendo, praising him for his contribution to European integration.

Buzek, former Prime Minister of Poland, called on President George Abela at the Palace in Valletta and later met with the parliaments Foreign Affairs Committee.

Buzek will address the Maltese parliament this evening and will also have meetings with Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and Opposition Leader Joseph Muscat.

He is also expected to meet migrants at the Balzan open centre.
