Jewellery stolen in Bugibba

Police sources have confirmed that thieves managed to gain access into the jewellery by removing stone slabs and disactivating an elaborated alarm system.

It is estimated that the haul is in excess of €100,000 as the shop was reportedly 'cleaned out' by the robbers.

CCTV footage was also blacked-out as the equipment was deliberately damaged and the hard-disc was removed.

A Magisterial inquiry is underway.
