Air Malta operates a special Charter flight from Cairo

Air Malta this week operated a special charter flight to assist in the evacuation of foreign nationals from Cairo.

This charter flight has been organised following a request from a private company to evacuate its expatriate employees from Egypt.  The airline immediately informed the Maltese Embassy in Cairo about this flight in case they received any request from Maltese nationals stranded in Cairo.

Air Malta has managed to set up this charter flight at very short notice despite challenging communication flow with the Egyptian authorities and the airport of Cairo.  In fact, the airline took all the necessary measures to safeguard the safety and interest of the aircraft, its crew and its passengers in these delicate circumstances.

Air Malta does not operate regular flights to Egypt, however it is monitoring the situation closely and may consider offering its spare availability for any demand arising from such extraordinary circumstances.
