Corinthia chief in urgent talks with PM
The meeting was requested by the Corinthia chairman Alfred Pisani with the PM. The meeting will deal with the serious and delicate situation in Libya where Corinthia is a major player in the hotel industry. The Libyan government is a minority shareholder in Corinthia.

The Libyan government is a 50% shareholder in the Corinthia group, hardly a minority shareholder. Corinthia and its shareholders (and here I am not referring to the IHI shareholders) have benefited enormously from their association with Libya and the we individuals concerned have become incredibly wealthy in the process thanks to the advantages they have had due to their relationships in Libya. good luck to them for that but they must take the good with the bad. They cannot expect to reap all the benefits and expect us to help carry the can when the going is tough. Quite frankly they chose their bed partner with all the benefits and risks and they must now lie in it.

Wenzu, we have helped to bail out Greece so why not Corinthia. What are the Taxpayers funds for ????

What ropes could the PM or the Foreign Minister pull at this stage? From the comment made by the PM, that “…Libya’s territorial integrity must be respected” it appears that Gonzi has been ill advised to raise this issue, unless he is aware of specific attempts by a foreign state ready to invade Libya.
No other foreign state has raised the issue of territorial integrity!
