Man grievously injured after crashing into a tree in Mellieħa

A 78-year-old man was grievously injured on Sunday in a traffic accident in Mellieħa.

According to a statement by the police, the incident occurred at around 3:15pm in Triq Louis Wettinger.

The Mellieħa local was driving a Toyota Hilux when he lost control and crashed into a tree.

The man was transferred to Mater Dei Hospital and has been said to be suffering from severe injuries.

The police are investigating.
