German diver drowns in Gozo

A 55-year-old diver has drowned off Gozo after being overwhelmed by sea currents while swimming

A German woman has drowned in Gozo after finding difficulty while swimming on Tuesday morning.

In a statement, the police said the 55-year-old driver was assisted on site but unfortunately passed away.

She was diving at at il-Kantra, off Mġarr ix-Xini, the police said.

This marks the second causality of the day, after an 85-year-old fishermen drowned in Zurrieq on Tuesday morning.
