Man critically injured in Mriehel crash

Preliminary investigations showed that the driver  lost control of his Toyota Corolla car, skidded and crashed into the aqueduct and then into a tree opposite the Farsons brewery in Mriehel.

As Civil Protection rescuers struggled to get the driver out of the wreckage, Police closed the road for traffic.

A Magisterial inquiry is underway.

Meanwhile, a Police spokesman said last night that the man's condition turned for the better and was no longer on the danger list..
