Two charged for harassing, threatening former girlfriends

Brian Spiteri, 41, from Hamrun was remanded in custody after being charged for harassing Angie Borg, and instilling fear in her.

The incident took place on 3 March in St Paul's Bay.

Spiteri was also charged of having a pointed instrument in his possession at the time of the alleged crime.

Meanwhile, in a separate case,  33 year-old Alex Borg from Rabat was accused of threatening his former girlfriend Rita Camilleri and holding her against her will in her flat in St Paul's Bay.

Borg was also accused of causing damage to a car belonging to Jeff Zerafa, and causing slight injuries to Alan Fenech.

Inspector Edmond Cuschieri warned that a protection order should be given to ensure the victims' safety in light of the Mgarr murder where Kenneth Gafa is being charged with killing his former partner Christina Sammut.

He was granted bail by Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera against a personal guarantee of €2,000.
