Franco Debono has launched another attack against the Prime Minister, calling him an 'imbecile'

Franco Debono has launched another online attack towards the Prime Minister, calling him “the most corrupt politician in Malta’s history”.

Writing on his blog, Debono enigmatically said that Joseph Muscat had “taken the bait”.

“My time has now come. You swallowed the bait hook, line and sinker, because you have always been an imbecile,” he said of Muscat.

“We will speak more clearly about this tomorrow," he added.

The comments come after, in another blog post on Thursday, Debono claimed that the Egrant Panama company was "either the Prime Minister's, or of someone close to him".

Debono also took to Facebook to comment about lawyer Nadine Sant - daughter-in-law of the Prime Minister's lawyer Pawlu Lia - who, it was reported, has been earmarked to be appointed a magistrate.

He made reference to a 2010 courtroom incident, involving Sant, who was appearing in a case for the Attorney General’s office, and lawyer Joe Mifsud, who had been acting for the defence.

The incident had involved a loud row between Mifsud and Sant, with the judge chiding the two lawyers for what he called “appalling behaviour”.

“This is the character of the person whom the Labour government wants to appoint as magistrate,” Debono wrote on Facebook.
