21 thefts from churches reported in 2018
Only five people have so far been charged in court in relation to the cases
There were 21 incidents of theft from churches around Malta during 2018, Home Affairs Minister Michael Farrugia said on Tuesday.
Speaking during parliamentary question time, Farrugia, responding to a question by Nationalist MP Karol Aquilina, said that the thefts included both objects that belonged to the church, as well as property belonging to people visiting the church.
Farrugia said that five persons had been charged in court over the five of the thefts.
