St Patrick's Day proves popular once again
The Irish feast proves perennially appealing as hundreds of people flock to the Spinola Bay area

Hundreds flocked to the Spinola Bay area and around the permanently closed Ryan's pub on Sunday afternoon on the occasion of St Patrick's day.

                                Barbecues started early this year
Roads leading up to St Julian's were closed and a lot of traffic congested the streets around Mrabat Road at the top of Gzira.

The traditional Guinness substituted for low-carb local beer
St Patrick's day is now a global celebration of Irish culture. It celebrates one of Ireland's patron saints, who ministered Christianity in Ireland during the fifth century.

The 'LOVE' sign was lit green for the occasion
It usually translates into drinking Guinness and other ales or beers, sporting green and partying.

Some took it fairly seriously, parading stereotypical Irish garments
Several parties and DJ events are planned around the island for Sunday evening.
