MaltaToday asked people in Sliema how they felt about the level of construction taking place in their surroundings
While Malta might be known to many for its sun and sea, another permanent feature of the country’s landscape is cranes.
The country’s economy is experiencing significant growth and while this must be considered positive, it has also brought with it a number of challenges, including what many believe are excessive levels of construction.
MaltaToday went to Sliema and asked people how they felt about the level of construction surrounding them and whether they felt it was leaving a negative impact on their quality of life.
Those who commented, both on camera and off, said the present levels of ongoing works were unsustainable, with many stressing that while construction couldn't be avoided, better enforcement of laws and regulations was essential
