[WATCH] Zejtun residents give President-elect warm send-off

Several Zejtun residents lined up in the street outside George Vella’s home to give the president-elect a warm send-off.

The people, who until a few years ago were Vella’s constituents, all had positive things to say about Vella, describing him in comments to MaltaToday as an upright and generous person.

As Vella emerged from his home to greet and thank people, some were overcome with signs of emotion. At one point, even Vella could be seen shedding a tear, as he shook people’s hands and embraced them.

School children also lined the streets, waving the Maltese flag and shouting “George Vella”.
