Woman still critical after stabbing, husband charged with attempted murder
UPDATED | Carmen Cassar, 41 of Birkirkara is still fighting for her life after being stabbed a number of times by her estranged husband, who was charged this morning with her attempted murder and remanded in custody.

The incident happened within a household in Henry Calleja Street, Birkirkara yesterday afternoon, when a heated argument between the the woman and her estranged husband erupted..
During the same argument, the victims mother, a 66 year-old woman also sustained slight injuries and was treated in hospital.
The husband, 43 year-old Eleno Cassar was immediately arrested was charged with attempted murder.
He denied the charge and was remanded in custody at Corradino Prisons.
During the hearing, it emerged that Eleno Cassar was ordered by a court last Monday not to approach or speak to his wife.
A police spokesman has confirmed that the woman's condition remained critical and in imminent danger of dying.

I wonder if any of the anti divorce movement has the courage to face this woman and explain the foundations of their philosophy and that she is just colateral damage to their cause

@ray: I agree, these things will happen divorce or no divorce. However it should be pointed out that the husband's violence is not considered a valid reason for an annulment. So, this woman was stuck with this man forever and she knew it. This may have influenced her decision to stick with him.
