Absent-minded couple in embarrassing incident as car falls into sea in Ta' Xbiex
It was an embarrassing night for a couple who ended up in the water at Ta’ Xbiex yacht marina, when the car they were in careered off the quay and fell into the sea.
The incident happened at around 2:30 am when the couple were inside a Nissan Qashqai which rolled off the quay side near the Black Pearl as one of them hit the handbrake.
The couple managed to get out of the car as it splashed into the water and managed to call for help.
Police and Civil Protection personnel arrived on the scene and assisted the embarrassed couple, while a team of divers ensured there was nobody else inside the car.
The Nissan Qashqai was lifted out of the water early this afternoon.

Guess she was being instructed how to handle the gear lever but mistakenly failed to pull the brake to stop.

I guess there was so much heat that they decided to have a quick cold shower!
