Pakistani suicide attack leaves 89 dead, 140 wounded
A double suicide bombing attack on a parailitary police training centre in Pakistan has left at least 89 people dead.
Pakistan’s Taliban said yesterday’s attack in Shabqadar which left some 100 wounded and other 40 in critical condition, was to avenge the death of Osama bin Laden.
According to the district police chief, the death toll has risen to 89: “There are five civilians among the dead and four other bodies which had been torn into pieces and could not be identified yet.”
According to the police, the explosion took place as newly trained paramilitary cadets, dressed in civilian clothes, were getting into buses for a 10-day leave.
According to news media, the attack has been the deadliest this year, as the government is in crisis over the killing of Bin Laden.
