Typhoon hits Japan, two dead
Two people were killed and several others injured as a tropical storm hit western Japan on Saturday.
Typhoon Talas slammed into western Japan from the Pacific bringing heavy rain and fierce winds. Local have officials have confirmed there where deaths and injuries.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the typhoon packed gusts of up to 108km/h and first hit the island of Shikoku.
Whilst the body of a woman believed to be in her thirties was recovered from a river in Tokushima, the National Police Agency said at least 17 people were injured, six of them seriously.
