Death toll from Japan’s typhoon Talas reaches eight
The typhoon, Talas, in Japan has killed eight people whilst another 33 have been reported as missing.
Local news agency report that the heavy storm and fierce winds have killed eight people, injured another 94 whilst 33 are reported as missing. The typhoon reportedly packed gusts of up to 108 km per hour, flooding rivers and causing landslides as it passed the island of Shikoku and Honshu island.
Local government also reported that in the Totsukawa village, a river washed away houses complexes killing at least two people, whilst seven are missing.
10 missing and three dead were also reported in the Wakayama prefecture.
