Nobel Peace Prize candidates

Amidst the turmoil in the world, the all female Nobel Peace Prize candidates have tried to bring peace in various ways from blogging to elections.

Lina Ben Mhenni blogged her criticisms of the Tunisian Government before the uprising and revolution sweeping the North African countries, and she could receive recognition of her peaceful nature of protesting.

An Egyptian democracy activist denies she is any different to others but Israa Abdul-Fattah said, “Recognition could be invaluable in helping pro-democracy movements in countries like Syria and Yemen.”

A Norwegian TV station predicts Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as “the most probably winner” because she was the first woman elected as a head of state in Africa coming to power as Liberian President after 14 years of civil war.

Another candidate, is a medical doctor and chairwoman of the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission Sima Samar is also to become an Afghani senior minister.

“Ladies in White” are also in the running, with three women who are relatives of political prisoner and the group is known for holding peaceful protests in the streets of Havana in Latin America.
