Thailand floods continue to increase
Floodwaters in Thai’s capital of Bangkok continue to increase as residents of six more districts are told to move to higher ground.
The country has been flooded by heavy monsoon rains since the end of July and 350 people have reportedly been killed.
These are the worst floods tackled by Thailandin 50 years.
As about a third of all Thai provinces are affected by flooding, authorities are attempting to drain water out to sea.
Sluice gates into the city have been opened due to the amount of water building up outside Bangkok’s flood barriers.
Roads around Don Muang domestic airport have flooded, the huge Chatuchak market was at risk, two more industrial estates were threatened and 2,000 prison inmates had reportedly been evacuated.
