More deaths in Syria protests
At least three people were killed when Syrian security forces opened fire on the civilians protesting against al-Assad's rule.
News agency Reuters reports local activists as saying that at least three people in a poor residential district in Homs today. They were killed as a Syrian tank opened fired on the citizens, in the second day of heavy bombardment.
The fights follow Syria’s decision to agree to a peace plan brought forward by the Arab League. The plan sees the pulling out of the army out of the cities.
According to news meida, the tanks resumed firing on the neighbourhood that has seen regular protests calling for the ousting of Syrian President Bahsar al-Assad.
The death toll continued to rise during the day as a total of 20 killings have so far been reported. Dozens others have been arrested. Activists have now called for mass demonstrations to test government’s commitment to the peace plan.
