Britain should protect Christian values says Prime Minister Cameron
Christian values should be protected according to British Prime Minister David Cameron who says moral neutrality may have caused Britain’s “moral collapse”.
British Prime Minister David Cameron said that Britain is a Christian country and should not fear standing up for Christian values to counter the “moral collapse”.
Cameron said that Britain’s ‘live and let live’ philosophy had turned into ‘do what you please’.
The PM also believed that such passiveness had fuelled the riots back in August, excess in the banking industry and home-grown Islamist terror.
Britain’s set of values and morals were given by the bible and should be defended according to Cameron.
Cameron said that moral neutrality and passive tolerance should no longer be acceptable because the same mentality may have caused some of the social problems in Britain.
Although somewhat of a sceptic regarding theological issues, Cameron described himself as a committed but only a distant member of the Church of England.
Cameron also valued the King James Bible on the same level of the literary works of William Shakespeare, calling it a “high point of the English language” during a public address.
