After negotiations came to a halt late in 2010, Israeli envoy Yitzhak Molcho and Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat agreed to resume talks.

The talks will be hosted by Jordan in an attempt to resume peace negotiations between Israel and Palestine in the presence of international mediators.

However, officials downplayed possible peace talks between the two countries to resume.

Previous negotiations had come to a halt after Israel’s refusal to freeze Jewish settlement building in the West Bank.
