Murdoch flying to London after Sun journalists are arrested
Media mogul Rupert Murdoch is to fly to London following the arrest of five senior journalists of British tabloid, The Sun, and pledges history will not repeat itself.
Media mogul and founder of News Corporation Rupert Murdoch is to fly to London this week after five senior journalists of British tabloid, The Sun, were arrested.
Murdoch had allegedly planned his visit to London prior to the arrests being made and personally guaranteed that history would not be repeated and The Sun would not face the same fate as the News of the World.
The Sun’s Deputy Editor Geoff Webster, picture editor John Edwards, chief reporter John Kay, chief foreign correspondent Nick Parker and reporter John Sturgis were arrested over bribery allegations.
News of the World was closed in July 2011 by Murdoch due to phone hacking scandals.
Police said that a ministry of defence official, a member of the armed forces and a police officer were also arrested over allegations that journalists had paid officials for information.
