Millions to celebrate Whitney Houston's life
Preparations continue for Whitney Houston’s funeral this afternoon which is expected to draw a number of celebrities to attend and viewed by millions on television and online.
Whitney Houston’s funeral is set to take place in the Newark church in New Jersey at noon where she used to perform in front of her family and community.
Houston died at age 48 a week ago at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, but investigators are still seeking a cause of her death which remains unexplained.
Houston leaves behind an 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Christina Brown; her mother, Cissy; brothers; a cousin; and a host of relatives and friends.
After nearly 30 years working with the best in the business, Houston’s funeral is expected to be attended by a number of celebrities.
Tyler Perry, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Kevin Costner are just a few “A-listers” expected to celebrate Houston’s life at New Hope Baptist Church.
Around 1,500 mourners are expected to fill the church during the funeral which will be broadcasted on television and online for millions to view from home.
The closest the public will be able to get to the funeral is a staging area two blocks away from the church after a perimeter was set up four blocks in two directions and two blocks in the other directions.
