According to international news media, former political prisoner Aung San Suu Kyi might win a seat in parliament, sealing not only personal success, but also personal victory after having spent 15 year under house arrest for opposing the country's military regime.

Voters in Burma are today going to the polls to take part in the by-elections.

Suu Kyi's release in 2010 saw thousands of people take to the streets in a spontaneous celebration.
