North Korea to push for new rocket launch
North Korea’s failed attempt at launching a rocket into the orbit will not stop it from pushing for another launch, newspaper reveals.
A pro-North Korean newspaper in Japan is reporting that North Korea will push for the launch of a new and bigger rocket as part of a five-year space programme.
Last week's failed rocket launch was seen by the international community as a banned test of long-range missile technology. However, the country is insisting that it intended to put a satellite into orbit for peaceful purposes.
The Choson Sinbo newspaper quoted an unnamed official in the rocket programme as saying that it would develop a bigger rocket than the one launch last week.
"(North Korean) scientists and engineers will never give up," the newspaper said.
Meanwhile, the South Korea has accused the North of trying to develop a long-range missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
