Briton ‘murdered’ after threatening to expose Chinese leader’s wife dealings
International news agency Reuters reports that the British businessman killed in China may have been murdered on orders of the Chinese leader’s wife.
According to two sources close to the police investigation into the murder of Neil Heywood, the British businessman was poisoned after he threatened to expose a plan by the wife of Chine leader Bo Xilai to move money abroad.
Reuters reports that wife Gu Kailai had asked Heywood to move a large sum of money abroad, and she became outraged when he demanded a larger cut of the money that she had expected due to the size of the transaction.
The sources told Reuters that Gu Kailai hatched a plan to kill him after he said he could expose her dealings.
The woman is in police custody, suspected of having committed or arranged from the Briton's murder.
