Oslo bombing testimony to be given by Breivik
Anders Behring Breivik is to give his testimony regarding the Oslo bombin while court attempts to determine his sanity and sentence.
Anders Behring Breivik is to be cross-examined in court about the bomb set off outside a government in building in Oslo which killed eight people.
Complying with the request made by his lawyers after Wednesday court sitting, Breivik did not make a far-right salute upon entering court today.
Prosecutors did not believe that the extremist network Breivik claimed to belong to existed and questioned him on this fact on Wednesday.
After the bomb in Oslo was set off by Breivik, which also injured 209 people, he went on to kill 69 more people at a Labour Party youth camp on Utoeva island.
If the court determines Breivik to be sane, he will receive a sentence of at least 21 years which could be extended by the courts.
Breivik will be committed to a psychiatric institution if deemed insane despite requests from the accused to be acquitted or executed.
He said this because he deemed a lengthy jail sentence to be a ‘pathetic punishment’ and did not want to be imprisoned.
