As the United Nations is stepping up its monitoring mission across Syria, two bombs exploded in Idlib.

Syria's state television said the blast occurred in two separate areas of Idlib and claimed it was the work of "terrorists".

As the attacks go on, the UN is trying to increase its pressure on President Bashar Assad and the country's opposition to stop the fighting. Major General Robert Mood, who is leading the mission, is taking charge of an advance team of 16 UN monitors who are trying to salvage an international peace plan. The observer levels are set to rise to 300 in total, Sky News reports.

Sky News, who visited a military hospital outside the city centre, reports a hospital filled with injured troops after the bus they were travelling in was ambushed.
