The caretaker cabinet in Greece is being sworn in to lead the country into another set of elections in June after the last elections resulted in a deadlock vote on 6 May.

None of the parties had enough votes to form a government and alliance talks failed after several attempts made over a period of nine days.

The deadlock caused political turmoil with party leaders unable to come to any form of agreement between them resulting in doubts cast over the country’s euro membership.

The swearing in of the 300-member Parliament will take their seats after the 16-member cabinet was sworn in this morning.

They will occupy the seats of Parliament until it is once again dissolved for the new vote.
